Huntington II, head of the Trust, asked to come to Stark to thank us for our generosity, and because we were the first and only school in the state to respond. Our contribution had planted a seed in his mind. Rather than raise money through the corporate sector, he has decided to reach out to Connecticut's school children. With their pennies, the Samuel Huntington Museum can become a reality. The U.S.S. Constitution [Old Ironsides] was rebuilt in the same way, as was the creation of the pedestal for the Statue of Liberty. AND, it all started here in Stamford."
